Oil and Gas: Well Drilling Under Way in Columbia, Nevada and Union Counties

There’s been a slight uptick in oil and gas activity in South Arkansas during the past couple of weeks, according to the Arkansas Oil and Gas Commission.

Drilling Permits

 

Sinclair Operating Company LLC of El Dorado is the operator and Sewell Drilling is the contractor for the Fennel No. 1, 2,268 feet FWL and 660 feet FSL in Section 12-17S-14W in the Champagnolle Field of Union County. Permit depth is to 6,000 feet in the Smackover Lime. Work began June 20.

 

Weiser-Brown Operating Company is the operator and Timberland Well Service is the contractor for the re-entry of the RBF 85 Works F-2, 2,145 feet FSL and 496 feet FEL in Section 9-15S-22W in the Falcon Field of Nevada County. Permit depth is to 1,316 feet in the Nacatosh Zone. Work started June 6.

 

Quanico Oil & Gas of El Dorado is the operator and Sewell Drilling Company is the contractor for Crain No. 4, 2,372 feet FSL and 280 feet FEL in Section 1-17S-14W in the Champagnolle Field of Union County. Permit depth is to 5,800 feet in the Smackover Limestone. Work began June 17.

 

Betsy Production Company of Magnolia is the operator and Sewell Drilling is the contractor for the R. Woodward No. 2, 1,650 feet FEL and 1,820 feet FNL in Section 12-16S-19W in the Sloan Creek Field of Columbia County. Permit depth is to 6,700 feet in the Smackover Lime. Work began June 10.

 

Well Completions

 

Quanico Oil & Gas of El Dorado has reported that its XTO Energy No. 1 was a dry hole. It was 330 feet FNL and 1,366 FWL of Section 7-17S-12W in a wildcat field in Union County. Total depth was to 5,600 feet. Work was completed June 6.

 

Quanico Oil & Gas also reported a dry hole at its Reese-Moody No. 1 location, 2,359 feet FWL and 2,354 feet FSL in Section 17-17S-14W in the Champagnolle Field of Union County. Total depth was to 6,250feet. Work was finished May 6.

 

Recompletion

 

Urban Oil & Gas Group of Plano, TX has recompleted the Phillips No. 3, Section 15-17S-19W in the Village Field of Columbia County. Total depth was to 5,290 feet in the Travis Peak Zone, with perforations between 5,214 and 5,218 feet. Daily production is 10.53 barrels. Work was completed May 13.

 

Workover

 

Arklatex Operating Company of Smackover has finished the workover of the W.W. Spooner No. 1, Section 9-17S-14W in the Champagnolle Field of Union County. Total depth was to 2,244 feet with perforations between 2,190 and 2,230 feet in the Nacatosh Zone. No production was listed. Work was finished May 15.
